We are a family who enjoy the skiing and boarding in the Tignes so much that we decided to purchase an apartment in the area. We originally set up tignesdirect in 2007 to make our apartment available to rent to people who have a passion for winter and summer sports in this fabulous area. Now operating in our 18th season, we have expanded our range of accommodation to include self-catering apartments, hotel rooms and suites.

We aim to provide excellent value for customers looking to arrange their accommodation independently. Along with our partners in Tignes, we work together to ensure your stay is as enjoyable and hassle free as possible.  We can also help with arranging lessons, equipment hire, resort transfers and catering.

Please read our testimonials page from past customers about the quality of service we offer to assist you in booking your holiday.

About us photo 2_edited.jpg

As a company we are constantly looking at ways to make our holidays more environment friendly.  We are home-based thus eliminating the need to commute to work and are paperless with all correspondence being sent electronically. We drive to resort whenever possible and make use of the free shuttle bus service in resort. There are ways in which you can help too. We encourage our clients to recycle their plastic, glass and cardboard at one of the various recycling stations in resort. Your lift pass can also be recycled at the end of your stay or you can hold onto it and recharge it next time you visit. In your accommodation, turn the heating down when you go out during the day and try to use showers instead of baths. While out on the slopes you could take a reusable water bottle with you and remember not to drop any litter or cigarette butts. If you need to invest in new kit, try to buy from an environment friendly company such as Patagonia or Picture Organic. Rab and Amundsen Sports make jackets with down sourced from old pillows and duvets. Some companies recycle clothing and boots. Tecnica has launched a Recycle Your Boots initiative : buy a new pair and the company will recycle your old ones into new ski products. Or you could bring new life into old kit by using Nitwax which comes in recycled bottles and contains no environment damaging chemicals.  For more ideas and inspiration take a look at the webiste of our fellow adventurer, author and climate awareness ambassador Tess Burrows:

The resort is divided into 5 sections: Tignes-Les-Brevieres, Tignes 1800 (also known as Tignes Les Boisses), Lavachet, Le Lac and Val Claret which serves the Grande Motte glacier.  The accommodation we offer is in Le Lac, Lavachet and Val Claret. All 3 are linked by a free 24 hour shuttle bus as well as the extensive lift system making it easy to find your way around.  Each area offers a range of shops, restaurants and bars with Val Claret being the liveliest.  In Le Lac there is a twice weekly market and a modern sports centre with 3 pool areas, saunas, Jacuzzis and steam room.  Other facilities in resort include a large sports centre with climbing wall, a bowling alley and 2 cinemas.

Tignes is part of the Espace Killy ski area and is linked with neighbouring Val d'Isere.  It is one of the highest resorts in Europe and hence offers snow sure conditions from later November to early May.  With 300km of pistes it is one of France's biggest resorts and has the added attraction of glacier skiing and boarding on the Grande Motte.  Tignes caters for all levels with gentle nursery slopes in Lavachet and Le Lac, a wide range of slopes for intermediates and extensive off piste for the more adventurous.

The Espace Killy ski area opens at the end of November. Prices for an Espace Killy (all areas) pass start at 260 euro for a 6 day adult pass, and 208 euro for a 6 day child pass.  Family and Tignes pass holder discounts are available online.

There are three price ranges which vary according to when in the season you are travelling :

  • Public rates : ski pass without special discount

  • Pass Tignes rates : ski pass with loyalty discount

  • Family rates : packages available for minimum of 4 people including 2 children

If you are a regular to Tignes, the Pass Tignes offers immediate discount of 5-10% on your Espace Killy ski pass.  Reload online at your convenience to obtain the discount.  The Pass Tignes card is sold for 10 euros and is valid for 3 years.

The price does not include Carte Neige ski insurance which can be purchased for approx 3 euros per day at the same times as your ski pass.
