Tickets for the Eurostar ski train are now available to book online at www.eurostar.com. The trains will run from 20 December 2025 bringing the last passengers home on 5 April 2026, a month longer than last year's ski train which stopped on 01 March 2025. Departing from London St Pancras International the train will run outbound on Saturday with returns on both Saturday and Sunday. This is a change from previous years when it was only possible to book the return leg on the Sunday, proving problematic for many who had booked Saturday to Saturday stays in resort. With more choice of tickets available to book this will be hugely beneficial for holidaymakers travelling to Tignes who are booking their stays from Saturday to Saturday.
Tickets start at £99 each way including a generous luggage allowance of 2 suitcases, one piece of hand luggage and skis/snowboard at no extra cost. Trains depart from St Pancras at 09:01 on Saturday, arriving in Bourg at 17:45 and they return from Bourg at 13:35 on Saturday and 10:54 on Sunday. It's advisable to book early for school holidays including New Year, February half term and Easter. There is a pre-registration kiosk at St Pancras and passengers can use the e-gates in Lille.
What to expect onboard
There is free Wifi and power sockets onboard as well as a cafe serving food and drink including toasties and pizza. The cafe can get busy and is small so it's a good idea to take food and drink with you. There is an M&S at St Pancras and a Pret in the departure lounge. The trains are family friendly with baby changing facilities onboard and no weight restrictions on luggage. Allow 45-60 minutes for check in and up to 90 minutes at peak periods. If travelling from outside London, the Premier Inn at Kings Cross St Pancras and Euston starts at £100 per night.
When changing trains at Lille, luggage can be stored in carriage 1 and there is 25 minutes to do this before the train departs. The journey from Lille to Bourg St Maurice takes 6 and a half hours. For onward travel from Bourg St Maurice to Tignes there is a regular bus service or we can help to organise private or shared transfers. On the return journey there is an hour and a half allowance to clear security and passport control at Lille. The departure lounge is quite small and can get busy.
Another option for travelling to Tignes is to take the Eurostar to Paris, then take the metro to Gare de Lyon then the TGV to Bourg St Maurice. This saves 25-50% but does mean more changes and an earlier start in the UK.

We recommend the Eurostar as an eco-friendly alternative to flying with the advantage of having great views enroute and being able to move around while on board. There are also no extra charges for luggage and no waiting around the arrivals hall for luggage once you arrive at your destination.
